Communicating data-driven research at the Ocean Sciences Meeting, the flagship conference for the ocean sciences
THE STORY
The Biological & Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) needed a cohesive display system to present their research at the Ocean Sciences Meeting—the flagship conference for ocean science. I collaborated with BCO-DMO to develop a visual identity that communicated their mission and data-driven work to a broad audience of researchers and scientists.
MY ROLE
I designed a suite of conference materials, including a booth backdrop, a vertical banner, and a research poster that visualized complex data processes. To reflect BCO-DMO’s focus on data management and ocean science, I layered binary code as a subtle background texture and introduced stylized tech waveforms in the foreground. This pairing symbolized the intersection of digital infrastructure and marine research. The deliverables allowed BCO-DMO to confidently share and present their research, engage attendees, and reinforce their presence within the ocean science community.
