Translating ocean science into engaging, large-scale conference experiences
BACKGROUND
Science conferences provide an opportunity to connect researchers, collaborators, policymakers, and the public through immersive visual storytelling. Across multiple scientific organizations and events, I designed exhibit booths and environmental graphics that transformed research into accessible, engaging experiences while maintaining each organization's distinct visual identity.
MY ROLE
As lead designer, I led the creative direction and production for conference exhibits for the Biological & Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office and the Ocean Observatories Initiative at the Ocean Sciences Meeting, as well as the Marine Biological Laboratory's booth at America Innovates. My responsibilities included designing all environmental graphics and supporting print materials, preparing production-ready files, and overseeing the production process to ensure each exhibit was fabricated and successfully installed in New Orleans, Glasgow, and San Francisco.
